Stimulated forward Brillouin scattering in hollow-core photonic crystal fiber

Abstract

Stimulated forward Brillouin scattering is observed in hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber. Multiple acoustic closely-spaced resonances exist below 100 MHz. A quality factor enhancement is observed when air is evacuated from the fiber.
