Abstract

This chapter describes research on morphology from the perspective of speech production. We begin the chapter by describing speech production and then some of the important findings of morphological processing. We then summarize models of cognitive preparation with a focus on how they deal with morphology. After presenting models of motor preparation and motor execution, we discuss themes and issues resulting from potential directions of future research on morphological processes in relation to speech production.
