Abstract

There are many algebraic structures connected with the Tutte polynomial or its specializations. In this chapter we discuss two such structures, focusmg on the Orlik-Solomon algebra of a sunpie matroid. • The Orlik-Solomon algebra. • An algebraic interpretation of the characteristic polynomial. • Hyperplane arrangements. • The restriction-contraction coalgebra of a matroid.
