Abstract
In the present work we discuss some methods for obtaining thin films with quasi-crystalline structures. Methods which produce decagonal and dodecagonal structures are presented in detail. Such techniques involve a post-deposition treatment heating treatment. We show that the analysis of thin film structures can play an important role in understanding the quasi-crystalline structures and the related crystalline phases.
