Abstract

A sub-Hz fundamental linewidth all-waveguide photonic integrated Brillouin laser is described. Principles behind the laser dynamics and resulting record low linewidths and phase and frequency noise will be presented. New systems-on-chip applications are enabled by the potential to operate from visible to infrared.
