Abstract

Sleep disorders are commonly associated with physiological, neurological, or psychological issues. Individual differences in sleep schedules depend upon age, lifestyle, and individual needs for sleep based upon biological, environmental, and behavioral factors. Sleep phase, amount of actual sleep (rather than time in bed), and biological-environmental interactions are important in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.
