Abstract
Several PVC samples previously irradiated with electrons in a Van de Graaff accelerator at different known doses were then subjected to electron bombardment in a UHV chamber. The electron stimulated desorption of gases was monitored with a quadrupole mass spectrometer. The evolution of HC1, C1, CO and CO2 is discussed and two desorption patterns are proposed. The behavior of a non-irradiated sample is compared with samples irradiated at 100, 500 and 1000 Mrad.
