Abstract
We discuss the growth of single crystals with the nominal composition of Al62Cu20Co15Si3. We observed that a number of phases are produced including single crystals of the decagonal quasi-crystalline phase with a length of the order of millimeters in size. A number of phases are found to coexist with the decagonal phase. A description of these phases is presented. The transition from quasi-crystal to crystal under electron beam heating is presented. It is shown that a tetragonal crystalline phase can coexist with the decagonal phase.
