Abstract

Grand Canyon National Park and World Heritage Site is not typically known for the cave and karst resources found within its boundaries. Among the many other natural and geologic wonders of the park, the caves and karst are equally spectacular. With over 100 km of mapped cave passage, including both epigenic and hypogenic systems, the resources found within these caves are world-class. The ma-jority of these resources are protected in the National Park but nonetheless are still vulnerable. Climate change, water quantity and quality, as well as impacts from visitation all have potential to impact these unique resources.
