Abstract

The foodservice industry is currently facing serious labor shortages in many segments and areas of the country. To ease the labor shortage, an increasing numberof older workers are being recruited into the hospitality industry. Hospitality firms will be hiring and managing a greater number of older employees in the future. The overall objective of this study was to determine attitudes of school foodservice employees towards older workers and to determine if age bias and stereotypes exist.
