Abstract

Emitter coupled logic (ECL) circuits are being integrated at increasingly higher levels. Simulation tools are required to perform transient simulation of large ECL circuits. Voltage regulator circuits are used in ECL to generate reference voltages. In mixed-mode simulators, voltage regulators need to be identified for special handling. This paper presents an algorithm to identify voltage regulator circuits in a transistor level description with no special pre-processing by the user.
