Abstract

The details of multiple solutions for porous media convection within the weak turbulent regimes are being investigated. The sensitivity of the results to very small changes in an algorithm using the same method of solution is particularly sought. Analytical as well as computational results identifying the reason behind this sensitivity beyond the obvious known fact of diverging near-by trajectories, are presented. The issue of lack of predictability of the results obtained in the weak turbulent regime is dealt with as well. The latter indicates a way to use the results in all practical engineering applications despite this lack of predictability of detail.
