Abstract

We have developed and are now using TEAMS, an interactive, integrated decision support system for multiresource project analysis. The system consists of a geographic information system, a relational database management system, a multiresource simulation model, economic algorithms, a constrained optimization model, a graphics output package, and the software that controls the flow of information among the modules as well as between the user and the TEAMS software. We have been using TEAMS in our teaching program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels to facilitate teaching multiresource management concepts and procedures. We have also applied the system to several projects ranging from about 1000 to 8000ha in size. -Authors
